Is the biggest Earthquake still waiting to destroy India and Nepal ?

What is Earthquake
An earthquake (also known as a quake, quaver or temblor) is the result of a sudden release of energy in the Earth's crust that creates seismic waves. The seismicity, seismism or seismic activity of an area refers to the frequency, type and size of earthquakes experienced over a period of time.
Earthquakes are measured using observations from seismometers. The moment magnitude is the most common scale on which earthquakes larger than approximately 5 are reported for the entire globe. The more numerous earthquakes smaller than magnitude 5 reported by national seismological observatories are measured mostly on the local magnitude scale, also referred to as the Richter magnitude scale. These two scales are numerically similar over their range of validity. Magnitude 3 or lower earthquakes are mostly almost imperceptible or weak and magnitude 7 and over potentially cause serious damage over larger areas, depending on their depth. The largest earthquakes in historic times have been of magnitude slightly over 9, although there is no limit to the possible magnitude. The most recent large earthquake of magnitude 9.0 or larger was a 9.0 magnitude earthquake in Japan in 2011 (as of March 2014), and it was the largest Japanese earthquake since records began. Intensity of shaking is measured on the modified Mercalli scale. The shallower an earthquake, the more damage to structures it causes, all else being equal..

Black Day (25th April 2015) for Nepal

ON this black 25th april at 11:43 Am Earthquake makes nepal beg for life, peace and survival.

Officials say atleast +10000 people  died in a powerful shudder in  Nepal and still rising.

The government has declared a state of exigency in the affected areas.

Nepali  Information Minister Minendra Rijal said there had been "Gargantuan destruction" at the epicenter, from where little information is emerging.

United States Geological Survey had counted large number aftershocks, one of which measured at a magnitude of 7.9.

Is still the biggest earthquake is still waiting to destroy nepal and india.?

The Important and crucial 72 hours are critical in addressing injuries caused directly by the earthquake," said Garrett Ingoglia, vice president of emergency programs at AmeriCares, which is sending an assessment team with medical supplies to Nepal.

Warnings Issued For Next 72 Hours:

The first 72 hours will be critical for Nepal, which was jolted by the biggest earthquake since 1934.

Reason Behind Nepal Tragedy due to Earthquake :

"The catastrophic earthquake in Nepal occurred due to two converging tectonic plates said Sauravi Katiyar one of Quora User : the India plate and the overriding Eurasia plate to the north.

Infact, plates are always slowly moving, but they get stuck at their edges due to friction. When the stress on the edge overcomes the friction, there is an earthquake that releases energy in form of waves that travel through the earth's crust and cause the shaking that we feel.

So, the earthquake which hit nepal on 25th april was result of it. But the energy which was produced due to collision of India plate and Eurasia plate is still not completely released. Hence, there is possibility of aftershocks for the next 10-15 days.

According to seismologists, these aftershocks are good right now in order to minimize the possibility of yet another catastrophic earthquake, because there is hell lot of energy which is still not released. Rest, only god knows what will happen. We can only pray & hope for the best.

RIP all those people who died in Nepal & India."

Pray for them and hope it should not be the same like in 1934.

Live earthquake in Nepal and Delhi Today

Today at 10:20 pm Nepal again felt  large number aftershocks,  which is measured at a magnitude of 6.7.

Government of Delhi,Punjab,Assam,Uttar Pradesh,Bihar have declared holiday for school and colleges on 27th and 28th april due to chaces of hitting the earthquake in next 72 hours

During Earthquake, you will reduce your chance of injury if you:
  1. DROP down onto your hands and knees (before the earthquakes knocks you down). ...
  2. COVER your head and neck (and your entire body if possible) under a sturdy table or desk. ...
  3. HOLD ON to your shelter (or to your head and neck) until the shaking stops.
